Oops, I am still learning!

In our marketing meeting, it sounded and seemed like a good Halloween promotion: a free Jell-O shot to anyone that came to the Dreamland Lounge in costume.

So we posted it on social media.

Thank goodness a friend saw it before the Arkansas Beverage Control (ABC) division did. She texted us with a reminder, “you can’t advertise free liquor!” It’s against the law.

Once she said it, I remembered that little/big rule from the ABC class and thought well duh, of course you can’t, or everyone would.

We quickly posted a correction: discounted Jell-O shots for those who come in costume. Whew … discounting, like happy-hour promotions, is acceptable.

A Bloody Good Jell-O Shot Idea

Let the fun begin! Making Jell-O shots is kinda fun, too. I’ve made plenty over the years, but none like the ones I made this week.

I’ve served spiked gelatin at home parties, at Dancing into Dreamland, and now at my new lounge. But these are by far my favorites.

The idea for these Halloweenish shots came from my trusty 20-something employee, who suggested red Jell-O with vodka served in needleless syringes to look like blood. FUN!!!!!

Forever Learning.
