That’s what we call it now.
A few weeks ago, husband Grady and I happened upon this Lake Ouachita island ablaze with fire. It was intriguing. I took pictures and shared them with everyone on this blog.
This week, we got a chance to revisit the island. I expected to see a big pile of ash with few trees standing; akin to something you might see on the news. But instead, it was mostly just the underbrush that burned. Approaching in our boat and from a distance you could hardly tell anything was amiss.
Next year, I’m going to remember this island as a fresh new place to possibly camp. Free of human waste and debris. Yuck.
