Are Men Ever Called “Bossy?”

Be honest.

A smart, confident, assertive woman is “Bossy.”

But a man with the same qualifications is a “Strong Leader.”

It’s Odd

I have become accustomed to reminding new, sassy, or lazy hires, “I’m not your girlfriend, sister, or mother. I am your boss and you must fulfill my work requests.” So, I guess that could be called “bossy.”

Do men ever have to say all that? Probably not. And maybe some of them do want an office girlfriend. Lol

Just Saying

I am not whining about being a woman in business. I love it. There are advantages. And I am like Teflon; good at not taking things personally. But sometimes, I get exhausted at having to defend my leadership gifts.

This week alone, I have, perhaps jokingly, been called bossy three times. I am reexamining myself. Am I? Nope. Just busy and blunt as any man should be when impartially and ethically leading the 50 employees of Kerry McCoy Enterprises.

Next time someone calls me bossy, I am going to wink and say, “bossy babe.” Flirting, that’s how us women, even at my age, get it done. No problem. I am goal oriented.
