If you buy your flags from Flag and Banner, chances are you’ve talked to this guy, Kirk or Captain Kirk as we like to call him – unless I’m mad at him and then I call him Kirk the Jerk! (truthfully, I’ve never called him Kirk the Jerk, I just think its funny). He is our senior salesman and, like me, he loves games.
When preparing for this year’s Super Bowl pool, I saw Kirk pull out his file of the past year’s squares. I couldn’t believe he’d saved them all! I was impressed with the longevity of our gambling tradition; I just had to take his picture.
Just look at all those sheets!
Our two favorite office games are March Madness and the Super Bowl. The game of Super Bowl squares is a game of chance that requires no football knowledge, so everyone can play.
Kirk makes a blank 10×10 grid, with 100 opportunities to win. For just $2, you can buy a random square and mark it with your initials.
Once all the squares are filled, we draw numbers out of a hat to assign them to the team columns and rows. If those numbers in your square match the final digits of the teams at the end of each quarter, you win.
Throughout the game, Kirk group texts us the winners of each quarter.
It is so much fun! Thanks, Captain.
