The ‘F’ Word

I am so tired of the “F” word being overused. I feel like it has been stolen from me. It used to be one of my favorite words; the flair in which I used it was an artform, or so I thought. Like the younger me, this unmentionable word was rebellious, even against the law in public. But now, it is repeated over and over, unartfully, by every lazy screen writer on TV and what seems like every boisterous female diner, dining next to me, or black man standing on the street corner.

Not that long ago, saying this word (and about six others) in public could land you a night, or longer, in jail with a heavy fine. Just ask George Carlin or Lenny Bruce. If you’re curious to know the other, one time, illegal words, just watch Mr. Carlin. He has laid it out for us.

In the meantime, I am searching for a new word. One that is age appropriate and that can be used interchangeably as either a noun, verb, adverb, or adjective. In researching this, I’ve realized this is going to be pretty f**king hard to do.

One suggestion was “Fahrvergnugen”. I had to look it up.
