“It’s better than watching TV.” That is what I told my husband this past weekend as we helped our old friend and metal artist, Mr. Jeff Waddle, and his wife LeaAnn install our custom built 10 x10 steel trellis.
Looking at it now, it looks simple; that is the beauty of it. In truth, the design and fabrication took months of decision making and tedious work. When the day came to install this 500 lb. steel artwork, Jeff brought his wife (who is surprisingly strong) and enlisted my husband’s help. As with all onsite installations, adjustments had to be made and so the guys worked into the night welding, digging, and pouring concrete.
This Thanksgiving, we will be hosting our friends and family at the Big House and part of our gratitude will be for artists of all kinds. Artists: born to create, driven by passion, and make life beautiful.
Thank you.
hozho naasha – Navajo word which means to walk in beauty but literally translates “beauty way path.” The words express the interconnectedness of a balanced life in which you and your environment are one.
