I’m having a blast planning this new bar business, Kerry Lou’s LLC, at Flag and Banner.
It probably won’t make much money, but I don’t believe it will lose any either. It’s more about having fun and business creativity. As my long-time friend and actress Joey Lauren Adams says about her new bar/restaurant in Hot Springs, Arkansas, “I want a sexy bar” and I think I do, too.
This week, along with applying for permits and license, I’ve been working on Kerry Lou’s LLC, dba Dreamland Lounge’s play list. In case you have yet to discover these new artists, I want to share their names.
Olivia Dean is the new Adele, so to speak, and like Adele she hales from across the pond. Another new artist on my radar is a Chinese, classically trained Cellist who grew up in Iceland, Laufey. What!?!? She is one artist I would like to see in concert because her tour includes a 30-pc orchestra and ballet dancers (like me, she loves ballet).
Serendipity
This week, at a Dreamland Ballroom event, I was lucky to meet a grammy award winning DJ from Arkansas, Nick Hud. Turns out, we had a past together; before he and his brother, Mark Hudson (a producer on Chris Brown’s album that won the Best R&B Album award at the 2025 Grammy Awards), they were extras for the re-enactment dancing in the Dreamland Documentary. Small world.
Anyway, we became fast friends, shared our love and music, and decided to collaborate on my Dreamland Lounge sexy playlist. Can’t wait!
Also this week, the Dreamland Lounge launched it’s Facebook page so everyone can follow the progress and know when it opens, which will be sometime in 2026.
