It may seem too early to start planning for Christmas. But for us retailers, it is late. Most retailers buy their holiday stock in January, with a late fall delivery schedule. Though FAB‘s showroom doesn’t have all its holiday inventory on display yet, we still need to start planning for holiday advertising, buying ad space, and ordering print materials.
For retailers the planning never stops. This week, we drove to Paul Guess’s huge Christmas warehouse in Des Arc to start thinking about next year. And we’re already discussing advertising ideas for the solar eclipse that is passing over Arkansas in April 2024.
It Ain’t Easy
There is a reason why FAB has been successful; we think ahead and do the hard things. Setting up this photo shoot for the winter holidays, especially when it is 90 degrees outside, is not easy. It is one of those things you want to put off until it is too late, and I have done that. But not this year. Last week we laboriously set up and decorated a patriotic Christmas tree in my daughters-in-law house alongside my grandbaby, who was missing his afternoon nap.
It’s Not Traditional
Come December, we want to show our customers how to have a red, white, and blue Christmas by repurposing some of their 4th of July decorations and buying some fun Old World Christmas ornaments from our wide selection of decorations.
For military families (especially with children), new citizens, aspiring politicians, or just enthusiastic patriots, this is a fun, new all-american twist on a family tradition.
