Winter Solstice at Moss Mountain

Well, he did it again. For the second year in a row, P Allen Smith welcomed Little Rock’s Trinitas Choir and friends to his beautiful Moss Mountain Farm. Together, we celebrated the Winter Solstice with a crackling bonfire, tours of his impeccably kept home and grounds, and music that filled the evening air with warmth and reverence.

Everywhere you looked was pure eye candy. There were Christmas trees with white lights, a once-used, super-heavy, horse-drawn sleigh on the front porch, a swan gracing the dining table, silver settings that sparkled on the buffet, and garland galore.

Yet my forever, year-round favorite and true center piece of this big, beautiful property is the 300 year old oak tree, known affectionately as “Big Sister Oak.”

Visiting Moss Mountain is for everyone living or visiting Arkansas. Check out his calendar to book an event or jump on one of his seasonal tours of the grounds.
