Not Such a Nightmare

There is never a good time to lose your phone. People have nightmares about it and about waking up the next morning and remembering how bad you were at karaoke the night before.

It’s been one whirlwind after another: A new business (the Dreamland Lounge), new landscaping for Dreamland Ballroom addition, and a new website in the making.

To add to the chaos this week, a team of people from FlagandBanner.com went to Tampa for our National Independence Flag Dealers Association (NIFDA) convention. I don’t care how busy my schedule is, I wouldn’t miss this event for the world. Many of the attendees are 2nd and 3rd generation flag makers. I have history with these people and their families. They know me and don’t judge my lack of singing ability to harshly. They appreciate the effort. lol

Having been in the flag business for 50 years, I can’t say I learn a lot of new things at these NIFDA conferences, but I love the camaraderie in our industry. We are a friendly bunch of flag dealers and manufacturers who try to keep American flags made in America.

Though our last bill was weak, we still went to Washington and successfully passed Bill H.R. 4137. And now, another bill, with a little more “teeth,” is in the works.

That’s when it happened.

Everything went well, until coming home. That’s when I lost my phone in the Tampa airport. It must have fallen out of the side pocket of my purse while riding through the TSA conveyor belt. By the time I noticed, I was already seated on the plane.

Argggggg…sometimes the universe forces you to unplug, whether you like it or not.
