In my mind, the term “dust bowl” no longer creates images of the Oklahoma drought of the 1930’s, described by John Steinbeck in the book Grapes of Wrath. Now, it describes my current work week.
In preparation for Dancing into Dreamland this weekend, son Matt and I’s time has been consumed by cleaning the Dreamland Ballroom and the new elevator addition. It is shocking how much dust and debris can be made by a few construction men.
With the help of a few others, we have swept the floor twice, mopped the floor twice and dusted everything over and over and over again.
But now, I think the ole girl (Dreamland, that is) is ready for her coming out party.
I can’t wait for Saturday night to show her off. She’s looking good.
